An Eggscellent Easter Fairy Garden

Last October I shared with you my Halloween fairy garden, a fun artificial garden display that I set up indoors shortly before my outdoor fairy gardens succumbed to the first frost. Well now we’ve made it through winter and I’m thinking Spring!  I can’t wait for flowers and warm weather!  Already the snow and bitter chill are gone, daffodil shoots are starting to come up, and the days are getting brighter and longer. To tide me over to Spring planting time, I set up a cheerful little indoor Easter fairy garden.

I saw the Easter fairy garden section at JoAnn’s (sadly our local Michael’s didn’t get any of the Easter figures this year that were limited to select stores only), but I was going to be strong and resist the cuteness – until I found the PERFECT 9X13″ basket base in their large 75% off fairy garden section of older items.  Seriously I was so shocked it was marked down because it was ideal for an Easter garden. The basket base’s size and the way it was made reminded me of the pumpkin base I used for my Halloween fairy garden.  So then I started browsing the sale section – which was unbelievably HUGE, as nearly all of their figures were on clearance – and found a Spring-like gazebo and outdoor rug for 75% off too.  I carried my sale treasures back over to the Easter fairy garden section, which was on sale for 40% off (not bad) and tested a layout in the store to see if I could make my vision come together.  Then I ran home and assembled my display.  I sat it on my coffee table and it’s perfect there.  For years I’ve had a little egg tree displayed on my coffee table at Easter, and frankly I’m a little tired of it and glad I have something new to enjoy in its place this year.

Instead of fairies or gnomes, two little well-dressed fanciful Easter bunnies inhabit my display.  I added three flower stakes in Spring colors around the teal-roofed white gazebo to give the structure even more of a Spring feel.  I placed the bunny holding a festive Easter egg banner next to the gazebo.  I placed two egg picks on either side of the bunny’s cozy door and set the Spring rug nearby for the bunny enjoying a cup of tea and carrot snack to stand on.  A basket of chicks and clothesline completes the scene.  I’ve been enjoying the fairy garden so much.  Sometimes it’s the little little things in life that bring so much joy!

I love the little clothesline too! I thought about putting a carrot fence there instead, but the clothesline looked so much cuter!
